Hamburger Recycling GmbH, a member of Prinzhorn Group based in Austria, has signed a Share Purchase Agreement for the acquisition of the shares of Kastas Kagit A.S (“Kastas Paper”), a company that specialises in waste management activities.

Established in 1973, Kastas Paper is among the leading companies providing waste management services in Turkey. On the other hand, Hamburger Recycling GmbH, a subsidiary of Prinzhorn Group headquartered in Austria, provides waste collecting and sorting services for all types of packaging waste made of paper, paperboard, cardboard, plastic and metal. Thereafter, Hamburger Recycling GmbH transports the collected waste to the recycling facilities. Hamburger Recycling GmbH currently has operations in 14 countries across Europe.

Arslan Law Firm acted as a legal advisor to the acquirer, Hamburger Recycling GmbH, in the share purchase of Kastas Paper. In this regard, Arslan Law Firm has provided Hamburger Recycling GmbH with legal advice in the drafting and negotiation of the share purchase agreement and other legal matters pertaining to the transaction.

Recently, Arslan Law Firm also acted as a legal advisor to Mosburger GmbH, another subsidiary of Prinzhorn Holding, during the entire sale and transfer transaction of the corrugated cardboard operations of Camis Packaging, a subsidiary of Sisecam Group.

As a side note, Hamburger Containerboard GmbH, also owned by Prinzhorn Group, is currently planning to launch a brand new paper mill in the province of Kutahya in Turkey. The 300 million Euro investment will create 500 new jobs and is planned to be finalized by 2020.
